Vice President - Dedicated Sales

Job Overview: Our transportation client located in the Cedar Rapids area is seeking to add a Vice President of Dedicated Sales to their team. The Vice President of Dedicated Sales is responsible for developing marketing, prospecting, and sales strategies focused on acquiring new customers while evaluating revenue quality and resilience. To be successful in the role of Vice President of Dedicated Sales, you must be able to lead an effective and efficient sales team, be able to drive conversations with internal teams to develop and execute strategies, and take full responsibility for the team's results.

 

This is a Direct Hire role, reporting to the President of Dedicated Solutions.


What you will be doing as a Vice President of Dedicated Sales …

  • Create strategic customer and carrier relationships that move business forward
  • Monitor sales activity and results using KPIs, ensuring attainment of objectives an taking corrective action as necessary
  • Anticipate changing carrier and customers needs to adapt as necessary
  • Drive prospect conversation and buyer engagement through specific strategies while evaluating long-term results of different strategic approaches
  • Be a driving force in creating a high-energy environment that fosters and rewards team success
  • Combine problem analysis and decision-making with up-to-date commercial insight and competitor information
  • Champion technology solutions to continue to move business forward
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Vice President of Dedicated Sales …
  • Hold a 4-year college degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of senior-level experience leading an effective sales team in the transportation industry, preferably with dedicated and multi-mode experience
  • Previous P&L management
  • Ability to understand and explain engineered solutions and dedicated pricing philosophy to customers
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of employees
  • Ability to motivate others in obtaining sales results
