Title: Turbine Services Manager

Summary:

The Turbine Services Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating turbine/generator projects and maintenance for Our Client. This role involves reviewing schedules, engineering documents, and P&IDs, troubleshooting plant systems and equipment, and planning, organizing, and directing resources such as labor, tools, and materials to complete project scopes effectively. The primary responsibility of the Turbine Services Manager is to coordinate the maintenance and repair of turbine generator systems across Our Client’s fleet safely and efficiently.

Position-Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1.Oversee and direct repair or inspection procedures using the latest communication, reference, and documentation technologies.

•Anticipate, document, and recommend solutions for potential failures and future outages.

•Demonstrate proficiency with print reading, including manufacturing drawings, P&IDs, and schematic diagrams.

•Collaborate with vendors to develop and optimize planning tools and schedules, supporting project implementation with accountability for task execution.

2.Coordinate with other teams to prioritize shared resources, ensuring adequate weather protection and environmental controls for equipment.

3.Manage shipment schedules and logistical details for materials, including the coordination of heavy-haul materials (e.g., valves, rotors).

•Facilitate on-site material movement, arrange rental equipment and facilities as needed, and ensure timely delivery and shipment of materials.

•Oversee the disposal and asset recovery of retired assets, organizing shipment of scrap materials and waste to designated facilities.

4.Monitor, coach, and recommend training for team members to build skills and knowledge needed for effective role performance.

5.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team’s functions and responsibilities, assisting with new staff training and cross-training existing staff.

•Contribute to performance management documentation.

6.Responsible for managing and coordinating turbine/generator projects and maintenance for Our Client, including:

•Resolving non-conformance reports and contract disputes.

•Reviewing work packages for accuracy and efficiency.

•Assisting in equipment clearance orders and procedure reviews.

•Providing technical oversight during field installation and testing.

•Identifying and reporting quality deficiencies and manufacturing defects.

•Reviewing industry trends to mitigate risks and improve project outcomes.

General Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1. Safety: Uphold Our Client’s safety standards, halting work if safety concerns arise. Support the Manager in policy and procedure integration for a safe work environment.

2. Compliance: Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and relevant laws/regulations. Assist in ensuring no conflict between internal controls and regulatory requirements.

3. Communication: Timely review and implement communications at the corporate, business unit, department, and team levels.

4. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in work practices, tools, or equipment and apply these improvements.

5. Fiscal Accountability: Adhere to budget and expense policies, care for company property and equipment, and contribute to budget planning.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster positive relationships and professionalism when working with other teams.

7. Work Assignment: Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

•Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or related technical field, or high school diploma/GED with 8+ years of hands-on steam turbine experience.

•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop professional relationships.

•Ability to manage multiple projects in a team environment.

•Proficiency in blueprint and schematic reading, strong administrative skills.

•Cell phone availability required.

Desired:

•Extensive knowledge of steam turbine maintenance and operations.

•Advanced degree in engineering, science, technology, or mathematics.

•PMP Certification.

Time Demands:

1.While non-essential, this role may be required to support restoration of normal business operations.

2.Maintain regular attendance per Departmental policy.

3.24-hour availability for emergency response and on-call duties.

Environment:

Office: Standard conditions with minimal dust, odors, fumes, or noise.

Field: Outdoor work in various weather, terrain, and natural conditions.

Generation Plant: Exposure to industrial environments, including extreme temperatures, poor ventilation, and loud noise.

Additional conditions include high-traffic environments, proximity to high-voltage equipment, construction hazards, working at heights, confined spaces, and possible asbestos/lead exposure.

Physical Demands:

•Ability to multitask, work under stress, operate office equipment, and interact with all organizational levels.

•Must be physically capable of climbing, working in enclosed spaces, sitting for extended periods, standing, and walking for long periods.

•Ability to lift 25 lbs from floor to waist
