Our Client is seeking a talented and motivated Transportation Project Manager to manage transportation projects for key clients, including the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). This role is based in Baton Rouge, LA, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Job Summary
The Transportation Project Manager will provide engineering expertise and project management for various transportation projects across Louisiana. The role includes roadway design and full-cycle project management from concept through construction, with responsibilities for scope, schedule, cost, quality, communication, resources, and risk management. This position also offers opportunities to engage in business development initiatives and manage up to $1,000,000 in annual gross revenue.
Key Responsibilities
•Participate in project scoping, cost estimation, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.
•Review project scope, develop schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and work procedures.
•Lead project teams, assign responsibilities, and oversee execution to meet schedule and budget requirements.
•Coordinate submissions to federal, state, and local authorities to obtain necessary permits.
•Serve as the primary contact for clients, resolving issues, obtaining approvals, and fostering ongoing business relationships.
•Manage all aspects of project engagements, including planning, organization, communication, and execution.
•Prepare and maintain project documentation, records, schedules, and progress reports.
•Ensure project objectives, quality, budgets, and schedules are achieved.
•Contribute to the design of airport and roadway projects, including mentoring younger designers.
•Maintain quality control, project completeness, and positive client relationships.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering.
•Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in highway or airfield design.
•Professional Engineer (PE) license.
•Proven project management experience.
•Previous experience working for a transportation agency or engineering consulting firm.
•Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Preferred Qualifications
•Knowledge and experience with the Louisiana DOTD, including the Road Design Manual.
•Familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoad Designer.
•Understanding of FAA Advisory Circular requirements.
