Sr. Principal Engineer / Software ArchitectThis is a Direct Hire role.

Location: Hybrid – Cedar Rapids, IA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Role Overview: Take charge of the requirements, design, integration, and verification of the entire GNSS software solution in close collaboration with our clients engineering teams in around the globe (GNSS, AP, Modem). Your focus will span digital and analog HW designs to optimize power, performance, and reliability of our client’s GNSS solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead embedded software efforts for Acquisition, Tracking, and Navigation, including interference mitigation, sensor integration (e.g., steps, MEMs), and power optimization (e.g., low power duty cycling).
  • Collaborate with customers, SOC, Modem, WIFI/BT teams for overall SOC solutions, making strategic trade-offs.
  • Debug complex A2A issues, including acquisition, tracking, and navigation.
  • Develop optimizations and algorithms to reduce memory footprint, enhance performance, improve maintainability, and reduce power consumption.
  • Conduct detailed reviews to ensure platform coherence across DSP signal processing, navigation, aiding, and mitigation features.
  • Provide critical reviews of external influences (e.g., new schemes by customer, CP, or SOC teams) to preempt subtle issues.
  • Manage all SW architecture/integration, algorithms, and trade-offs for performance and power.
  • Give HW team (digital, analog, RF) requirements inputs to leverage future SW features and minimize area.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s (20+ years), Master’s (18+ years), or PhD (15+ years) in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Leadership in GNSS, Navigation, and Timing technology.
  • Expertise in sensor integration for optimal location solutions.
  • Proficiency in MEMs and MEMs integration for location.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, and both pre-silicon and post-silicon evaluations.
  • Skills in lab and field test planning, analysis, and debugging.
  • Travel availability around the globe.  (15-25%)
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Python, and C programming for PC and Linux.
