Software Engineer 

Job Overview: Our Des Moines, IA client is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to their expanding team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play  a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of functional web applications and integration programs. You will work collaboratively within a team environment and individually, ensuring the success of software projects. The role encompasses various tasks, from research and design to documentation and modification of software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.

This is a Direct Hire role. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, code, and test functional web applications and integration programs.
• Collaborate with both team members and work independently when required.
• Research, design, document, and modify software specifications during the production lifecycle.
• Utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive solutions.
• Participate in the development of various software projects.
• Ensure compliance with best practices and standards in software development.

Key Qualifications

Non-Technical:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance processing and terminology is preferred but not mandatory.
• A team player who can assess technical solutions objectively and promote consensus within a team environment, rather than relying solely on individual preferences or organizational authority.
• Curious individuals who demonstrate their intelligence through the quality of their questions and possess a broad perspective beyond just IT.

Technical:

• Recent experience with Azure cloud development.
• Proficiency with Azure Cloud services, including App services, Service Bus with Queues and Topics, Azure Functions, and Azure SQL Services.
• Experience with tools like Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, GIT, ASP.Net, SQL Server, and .Net Framework.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and others.
• Experience in frontend, backend, system integration, file trading, or web services development.
• Familiarity with data storage concepts, including SQL, relational databases, and other file formats (XML, JSON, etc.).
• Understanding of the project development life cycle.
• Knowledge of Dependency Injection.
• Awareness of the latest version of .NET.
• Understanding of DevOps practices.
• Experience with testing tools and their usage.

• Base salary 115,000-130,000 DOE
