Job Overview: Our client located in the Iowa City area is seeking to add a new Senior HR Business Partner to their team. The Senior HR Business Partner?is responsible for being an employee champion and change agent while assessing and anticipating business needs. To be successful in the role of Senior HR Business Partner, you must be people-orientated, have excellent communication skills, and be a proven problem-solver. 

This is a direct hire position reporting to the VP of People and Culture.

What you will be doing as a Senior HR Business Partner… 

• Main point of contact for managers and leadership throughout the company
• Ensure Diversity and Inclusion is an integral part of the company culture
• Create an onboarding and orientation program that aligns with standard operating procedures
• Audit current training programs and create a plan to address any compliance issues
• Manage and address arising employee relation issues by conducting effective and objective investigations
• Keep up to date with legal requirements related to the field
• Develop policies, programs, and solutions based on trends and metrics
• Help increase productivity and retention through building morale and improving work relationships
• Help in the hiring process and develop contract terms for new employees, promotions, and transfers

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Senior HR Business Partner… 

• Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organization Development, or Business preferred
• PHR or SPHR Certification strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in HR to include development, training, and employee relations
• Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
• Some travel required
