Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Job Overview: Our Louisville, KY client, in Civil Engineering, is seeking to add a NEW Senior Geotechnical Engineer to their team. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead the technical execution of both routine and complex projects from design through completion. Your responsibilities will include planning, scheduling, and managing engineering tasks, supervising analysis processes, and conducting project reviews. You will oversee technical training, guide less experienced staff, and serve as an Authorized Project Reviewer. Additionally, you will contribute to marketing and business development, ensure compliance with safety standards, and drive continuous quality improvement across all projects.

This is a Direct Hire role.

• Provide technical guidance for the successful execution of routine and complex projects.
• Lead the conceptualization of designs and investigative strategies for key project phases or take responsibility for engineering work in moderately scoped projects.
• Plan, schedule, and manage engineering tasks, addressing any conflicting design elements.
• Conduct project reviews, particularly for those involving complex investigation techniques.
• Supervise the analysis process and contribute to technical reports for clients; provide technical assessments of reports.
• Lead technical training sessions and make informed decisions on cutting-edge technology issues.
• Oversee marketing, sales, and business development efforts.
• Manage less experienced engineers and technical support staff.
• Act as an Authorized Project Reviewer.
• Assess project-related risks, ensure compliance with company risk policies, and promote a safe work environment.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines.
• Champion continuous quality monitoring and improvement, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-PE/responsible charge experience with geotechnical consulting firms.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Kentucky or ability to attain within 6 months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
