Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description

If you are an Electronics Design Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to grow, develop, and expand your skills professionally, our client has a compelling role for you based in Marshalltown, IA. As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and documenting innovative electronics for electric actuators and related industrial products—contributing to a safer, smarter, more sustainable world. This role plays a key part in the New Product Development process, encompassing everything from initial concept and electrical design to validation, documentation, and product launch readiness.

Hybrid work arrangement available (in-office and remote).


Responsibilities

•Design electronic circuitry for industrial applications, including motor drives

•Collaborate with cross-functional development teams within and outside the business unit

•Partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product delivery

•Research industry trends and adopt emerging technologies

•Create and execute technical specifications, designs, and test plans for new products

•Support timeline/resource planning to align with long-term business goals

•Influence mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing requirements to support system design

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

•2+ years of relevant experience

•Strong understanding of analog and digital components in industrial products

•Experience designing and optimizing industrial electronics for cost, performance, and manufacturability

•Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, RS232, BLE, HART

•Proficient with engineering tools: P-SPICE or LT-SPICE, oscilloscopes, function generators

•Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in ambiguity

•Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes


Preferred Qualifications

•5+ years of industry experience

•Familiarity with control valve applications

•Hands-on experience with sensors and industrial electronics

•Expertise in sensor integration, power management, and communication protocols

•Exposure to embedded systems development

•Understanding of EMC, CE/ATEX, CSA testing

•Knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry
