Production Supervisor
Full-Time | Manufacturing Plant
Shift: 2nd Shift (2p -10p)
Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations for an assigned shift and production area. This role ensures goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement are consistently achieved. The supervisor leads a team of production employees while partnering with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Tooling to support smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and feedback to hourly team members; ensure compliance with company policies and workplace standards.
Monitor performance metrics such as throughput, scrap rate, and downtime; implement corrective action when goals are not met.
Lead safety talks, support a strong safety culture, and quickly address hazards or unsafe behaviors.
Maintain adherence to quality standards and collaborate with Quality teams to resolve process or product concerns.
Identify equipment or process issues and submit timely work orders to ensure proper follow-up.
Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce scrap.
Document shift activities through reports, huddles, and communication handoffs.
Support training and upskilling of operators and leads to build bench strength and promote growth from within.
Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize unplanned downtime and drive sustainable solutions.
Take part in daily production reviews, Gemba walks, and other structured improvement meetings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
3+ years of manufacturing experience; 1+ year in a supervisory or team leadership role preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication, accountability, and coaching skills.
Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and exposure to ERP systems (Odyssey experience a plus).
Experience in die casting, CNC machining, or a related industrial environment strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to machinery, heat, and moderate noise levels.
Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be willing to work overtime or alternative shifts as needed to support production needs.
