Process Control Engineer

Our Wichita, KS client, in heavy industrial, is seeking to add a NEW Process Control Engineer to their team. The Process Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting a safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the company’s fleet of fertilizer plants, with a focus on developing and sustaining capability in the fleet. To be successful in the role of Process Control Engineer you must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 8 -10 years’ experience with in process, reliability, or process controls engineering, and 6+ years’ experience with DCS and SIS. If you are very strong in PLC this will suffice as well!

This is a Direct Hire role.

Compensation you will receive as a Process Control Engineer

What you will be doing as a Process Control Engineer

  •  
  • Working at different plant operating sites to review instrumentation and control equipment.
  •  
  • Develop implementation plans to drive control performance improvements.
  •  
  • Work with engineers and field technicians to troubleshoot issues and opportunities
  •  
  • Pursue engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies
  •  
  • Review plant’s process and safety control performance
  •  
  • Read and understand P&ID’s, control narratives, instrument and valve data sheets and apply control skills to drive improvements
  •  

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Process Control Engineer

Required

  •  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  •  
  • 4+ years experience with configuring DCS/SIS controls and knowing how the controls are built in DCS
  •  
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  •  
  • Experience with industry standards and codes (ISA, IEC, ect.)
  •  

Nice to Haves

  •  
  • Experience in the design and implementation of process controls
  •  
  • Experience troubleshooting process issues that may also have instrumentation or control related issues or needs
  •
