This Principal level position is primarily an FPGA firmware design and verification position with emphasis on video display and camera systems.
This position requires a background in complex FPGA firmware design. Experience with video FPGA firmware design or image processing algorithms is preferred. Design and verification in a process-controlled environment similar to DO-254 is a plus.
This position requires responsibility for all aspects of the design and verification beginning with requirements definition through the certification of the product. Project activities include schedule preparation and reporting of status on tasks as well as interaction with team members from other disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design FPGA firmware for commercial and military applications
Define and capture requirements for new firmware designs using enterprise tools such as Jama
Create conceptual designs which include block level architecture, clock and reset distribution strategies, and bandwidth/latency analyses
Create detailed designs of the FPGA firmware at the register-transfer level with VHDL
Perform RTL synthesis and implementation using FPGA tools such as Vivado
Support board level integration of the FPGA firmware
Present FPGA firmware design to certification authority
Lead, oversee efforts, and train less experienced designers
Lead FPGA design and verification teams
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with AMD (Xilinx) FPGAs and Vivado
Experience creating test benches and simulating with ModelSim / QuestaSim
Digital board design experience implementing FPGAs with multi-gigabit serial links
Experience leading FPGA design and verification teams
