Physical Design Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Physical Design Engineer to join their team in driving advanced semiconductor development. This role focuses on implementing and optimizing physical design flows using industry-standard tools, with a particular emphasis on Synopsys ICC2. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in deep submicron technologies and a collaborative mindset to enhance design methodologies and deliver high-quality, high-performance silicon.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform full physical implementation of digital designs using Synopsys ICC2 tools.
Develop, maintain, and refine automated tool flows to support evolving project needs.
Collaborate with team members to continuously improve physical design methodologies and best practices.
Identify and resolve DRC (Design Rule Check) and LVS (Layout Versus Schematic) violations using Calibre.
Analyze and fix voltage drop (IR drop) and electromigration issues to ensure robust power delivery.
Execute timing ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) to close timing and meet performance targets.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with advanced process nodes (16nm and below).
Hands-on proficiency with Synopsys tools and flows, particularly ICC2.
Strong understanding of digital implementation flow, timing constraints, and STA (Static Timing Analysis).
Familiarity with physical verification using Calibre for DRC/LVS.
Scripting skills in Perl, Python, Tcl, and Make for automation and flow optimization.
