People & Culture Business Partner
Job Overview: Our Iowa City area manufacturing client is looking to add a People & Culture Business partner to their team. The P&C Business Partner plays a pivotal role in aligning employees with business goals while fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged workforce. This position oversees key HR functions for the manufacturing team such as talent acquisition, employee performance, development initiatives, policy management, and health and wellness programs. The role requires acting as an employee advocate, a change agent, and a partner to leadership to deliver integrated solutions that drive business success.
This is a Direct Hire role.
What you will be doing as a People & Culture Business Partner…
- Serve as a trusted advisor and sounding board for managers.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop company-wide communication and engagement strategies.
- Implement diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
- Lead talent acquisition efforts to recruit and retain top talent.
- Standardize onboarding and orientation processes across locations, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand and SOPs.
- Design and execute training roadmaps and coaching programs for employee development and succession planning.
- Build strong work relationships to enhance morale, productivity, and retention.
- Resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct objective investigations.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Partner with the legal department to mitigate legal risks.
- Maintain and update policies and practices to align with evolving business needs.
- Analyze trends and develop data-driven solutions to inform HR strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs.
- Provide guidance on workforce planning, restructuring, and succession planning.
- Assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
- Manage internship programs and oversee health and wellness initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Advanced degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or Business preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience, with a focus on professional development, training, and employee relations.
- Wind energy industry experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in HR disciplines, including employee relations, compensation, performance management, and organizational diagnostics.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a high level of organization.
- Ability to manage projects and drive change effectively.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
