Job Overview: Our premier transportation client located in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking to add a NEW Parts Manager to their team.  The Parts Manager?is responsible for supervising and managing the parts department and the employees.  To be successful in the role of Parts Manager, you must have strong communication skills, be able to design workflows and procedures, and be able to directly supervise several employees. 

This is a direct hire role.  

What you will be doing as a Parts Manager:

• Oversee the ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory, and shipping of truck parts/equipment
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective and efficient workflow processes and procedures
• Assign work to employees and provide performance feedback
• Respond promptly to customer needs
• Collaborate with the Service Department to review orders and negotiate with vendors to purchase parts and materials
• Establish pricing strategies by analyzing volume and demand along with supply and capacity
• Manage inventory and handle any discrepancies
• Develop annual forecasting and manage the department budget to assist with sales growth
• Interview, hire, and train new employees

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Parts Manager:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management position
• Knowledge of Word Processing software, Inventory software, Microsoft Outlook, and Order processing systems
• Experience with ADP applications preferred
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs
