Saige Partners is seeking a dedicated and skilled Network Technician for a long term contract opportunity in Bloomington, MN. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining, building, and enhancing network infrastructures, ensuring seamless operations and supporting the organization's goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Network Implementation: Participate in the acquisition and implementation of new network hardware, software, and security products to optimize our network performance.

Problem Management: Engage in problem management activities, including issue resolution and root cause analysis, to enhance network reliability.

Documentation Management: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and support procedures for various technologies to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.

Infrastructure Improvement: Identify, prioritize, and propose solutions for infrastructure improvements, contributing to the overall efficiency of network operations.

Documentation Review: Collaborate with the Network Administrator and Network Engineer to review and enhance the current network documentation.

Coordination: Coordinate infrastructure support efforts with the Network Engineer, Network Administrator, and Systems Engineer to ensure cohesive operations.

Project Management: Assist in keeping the network project plan updated as construction projects evolve, ensuring timely and effective execution.

Hardware Deployment: Deploy network hardware, including the installation of switches and patching of desktop and switch wiring at various sites as needed.

Upgrade Implementation: Plan, test, and implement upgrades and changes in collaboration with the IT team, City staff, and vendors.

Vendor Relationships: Maintain positive relationships with network service providers to ensure optimal service delivery and support.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements to uphold industry standards.

Network Updates: Participate in the implementation of network updates, including upgrades, patches, and new software releases to maintain system integrity.

Helpdesk Support: Act as an escalation point for the helpdesk, providing advanced support and guidance for network-related issues.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary to support team and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Network Technology, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) preferred.
- Proven experience in network administration and support, with a solid understanding of network hardware, protocols, and security practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and licensing requirements in the networking domain.
