Member Relationship Officer 

The Member Relationship Officer provides exceptional customer service while assisting members with account transactions, account maintenance, and financial service needs. This role serves as the first point of contact in the branch, helping members access products, services, and self-service banking tools while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist members in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Identify opportunities to educate members about financial products, services, and digital banking tools that support their financial well-being.
  • Assist members with account servicing requests, transactions, deposits, withdrawals, and account maintenance activities.
  • Answer questions regarding products and services and resolve member concerns within established authority levels.
  • Refer complex issues or member needs to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily cash handling duties, balancing, reconciliations, and cash management activities.
  • Operate cash handling equipment and research and resolve balancing discrepancies.
  • Process cash advances and issue debit and credit cards as needed.
  • Identify members who may benefit from financial wellness or educational programs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Work weekend hours as needed.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of financial institution operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
  • Ability to learn and use financial software systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of teller, banking, customer service, or cash-handling experience preferred.
