Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Milwaukee, WI ONSITE
Pay: $36-$40/hr
CONTRACT TO HIRE
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and assist in producing high-quality mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and plans for healthcare and commercial projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely project delivery and prioritize workflow for projects in multiple states and locations.
Responsibilities:
- Produce well-designed and coordinated mechanical engineering concepts, drawings, reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, analysis, and construction documents
- Maintain prompt written and oral communication with project team regarding scope changes, design decisions, cost updates, project status, etc.
- Keep current with the latest federal, state, and local code standards and apply regulations to ensure projects comply with applicable codes and regulations
- Conduct field inspections, evaluation, and verification of field conditions
- Use available and pertinent electrical computer programs to enhance productivity while verifying results with manual checks
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in design/drafting (5 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, ductwork, piping (hydronic, steam, air), controls design
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently and with others while maintaining a positive, professional attitude in all situations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Plumbing and/or fire protection design experience
