We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Dornier Loom Operator Technician to join our client's manufacturing team in Fort Wayne, IN area. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-precision Dornier looms to produce technical textiles with consistent quality. This is a hands-on position critical to production efficiency and product excellence.
What you will be doing...
Set up and configure Dornier looms according to fabric specifications, including warp and weft thread installation and machine calibration.
Operate looms efficiently, monitoring performance, adjusting parameters, and responding to mechanical issues or thread breaks in real time.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, parts replacement, and system checks.
Inspect woven fabrics for quality assurance, identifying and addressing defects or irregularities.
Document production output, equipment maintenance logs, and any issues encountered during shifts.
Collaborate with production supervisors, maintenance teams, and quality control to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.
Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and participate in safety initiatives.
Skills you bring to the table....
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications in textile manufacturing is a plus).
Prior experience operating industrial looms—preferably Dornier looms—in a textile or technical fabric environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
Ability to read and interpret production specifications, mechanical schematics, or fabric patterns.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and standing for extended periods.
Basic computer skills for production entry and record keeping.
If you have this experience, it would be a bonus...
Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
Familiarity with automated or computer-controlled loom systems.
Understanding of textile fiber types and weaving processes.
