Manufacturing Engineer - (North Billerica, MA)
Manufacturing Engineer: Develop cost-effective and efficient manufacturing methods for a diverse range of machined, assembled die castings, employing a hands-on approach.
This is a Direct Hire role.
What you will be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer - (North Billerica, MA)
- Design and optimize processes to support both new and existing products.
- Ensure timely schedule attainment for new product launches.
- Drive cost reduction and minimize scrap through effective application of manufacturing processes.
- Establish process methods and standards aligned with customer and company requirements.
- Analyze and disseminate statistical data, showcasing strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Interface with customers to support new and ongoing business activities.
- Foster effective collaboration between manufacturing departments, quality, and customer service.
- Lead planning, engineering, design, and execution of processes within manufacturing departments.
- Conduct dimensional analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance dimensional capability, with a solid understanding of casting tolerances and GD&T.
- Utilize SolidWorks for part evaluation, fixture design, and creating part prints.
- Develop comprehensive work instructions for manufacturing processes.
- Employ measuring devices for obtaining information from existing dies and tooling.
- Review and implement Engineering Change Notice (ECN) activities.
- Occasional travel to customer facilities may be required.
- Provide technical support across various departments, including Customers, Sales, Programming, Quality Control, Assembly, Machining, and Vendors.
- Evaluate equipment and cells for throughput, ergonomics, and safety improvements.
- Maintain organized files, records, reports, part prints, and statistics for processing and estimating purposes.
- Actively participate in cost-saving activities, such as Lean initiatives, Kaizen Events, and Overall Productivity Improvement Events.
- Contribute to key technical decisions and technology/product planning.
- Stay informed about current and emerging engineering methods and development
- Bachelors degree in engineering and/or business discipline.
- Preferably two or more years of relevant engineering experience in a process manufacturing role.
- Strong background in precision machining is desirable.
