DETAILS:

  • Direct hire position 
  • Pay Rate: Flexible base salary with 10% commission on billed $$$. Expectations are to be billing $15,000/mo by end of a 12-month period.
  • Shift Time: This is a full-time position. While normal hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., hours for this position may vary based on job related requirements.   
  • Job Location: Remote in Kansas City; Travel for this position will be local to Kansas City area.

SUMMARY: Focus on new business development and growing the client’s presence in Kansas City, MO. Maintain existing account relationships for renewing support, data backup, and lease agreements. Charged with general oversite and accountability for staff at Kansas City branch office. Utilize sales and marketing materials.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to understand technical terminology related to server administration 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019; Windows 7/2003/2008/2010
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Creative Suite, ConnectWise, Internet browsers, laptop, printer, phone, and general office equipment
  • Developing standards
  • Knowledgeable in technology innovations and trends
  • Collaboration with other staff to research and resolve problems
  • Collaboration with systems and network administrators to explain errors and/or recommend modifications to systems and networks
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field, Marketing, Management or Management Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent experience of 2-4 years
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a PC related field
  • Must be familiar with technical aspects of PC hardware, software, and networking operating systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create contracts company-wide for new and renewals for IT Complete, Spam Filtering, Outbound Encryption and Microsoft 365 products.
  • Secure FTP, Encrypted HDD and mobile device management.
  • Work with other sales staff to create appropriate agreements for their prospects and/or client base.
  • Conduct network/site review. Meet in-person or conference call with clients and prospects to review current network configurations, discuss needs and problems, suggest solutions, and build phased plans for upgrading and replacing equipment and support/services.
  • Develop Sales and Proposal Presentations. Present network findings (in-person, conference call, Teams, Zoom) after initial meeting and IT engineer input. Review proposed solutions, services, and network equipment with client/prospect and answer any questions. Follow up after sales presentation for proposal revisions and questions. Walk client through signing process, next steps and estimated timeframes for implementation.
  • Communicate with vendors to find appropriate and cost effective solutions, resolve order discrepancies and resolve invoice issues.  Negotiate pricing and contracts. Maintain contact with vendors weekly and often daily. Arrange calls with vendor tech staff when tech staff needs product/support information or assistance.
  • Maintain Client Relations by responding to client inquiries and requests via phone, email, ticketing system and text for equipment requests. , direct to correct group for support request and answering general and equipment questions.  Follow up with clients on requests to make sure needs were met.  Periodic network and support reviews.  General check-ins to make sure everything is going well.  Plan client appreciation events (see other).
  • Create full network equipment quoting and procurement. This includes working with engineers on network planning and scope as well as building network equipment quotes.  Once client has approved network proposal (in-person, email or DocuSign), notify tech staff and CEO of impending installation. Procure equipment/software (via web portal, phone, email or PO) and create installation scope and equipment ticket for tech staff.  If equipment is leased, provide equipment/software lease spreadsheets to accounting for lease document creation and work with accounting on lease documents. Request financials from client for bank credit approval and answer any questions throughout the process. 
  • Review leasing and first invoice documentation with internal accounting group and client. Once lease documents are created, review and submit revisions to accounting or make corrections.  Review lease documents with client for signature. Review first invoices for contracts or large equipment orders and submit revision to accounting.  Review first invoices with client.  Review leasing documents and invoices for other sales staff and pass along to them for review with client.  Occasionally make collection calls and past due invoice reviews. 
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendor and audit account. Review monthly invoices from various vendors to ensure they are correct and create monthly reports for accounting on items that need to be rebilled to clients.  Occasionally perform audit of licensing to match invoices.  Respond to Microsoft licensing audits on behalf of clients.
  • Work on special one-off or extended projects that are not part of typical programs. This can include project management, tech travel scheduling/purchasing, equipment procurement, client communications, documentation, meeting scheduling, equipment packing/loading/checking, etc.
  • Submit orders for shirts/bags, print materials, etc. Negotiate contract for Kansas City office condo and office cleaning. Plan company events i.e., Christmas party, summer outing; client appreciation events (Packers trips, Buccaneers tickets and related items such as food ordering, transportation planning and communication). Plan technician travel and assign client equipment requests to procurement staff. Maintain sales boards ticketing system processes for sales/procurement staff.
  • Train new sales staff on programs, internal processes and pricing structures.  Participate in prospect meetings or calls for the first two months with a new sales person and occasionally present proposals or answer questions. Train procurement staff on equipment uses and specs, ordering processes and vendor/client communications.  
  • Review and complete product sales training courses from Dell and other vendors. Attend product launch webinars and company road map presentations. Search for free sales/marketing/business courses on-line and read related materials or watch videos.
  • Achieve organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; proactively explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
