Job Overview: Our Cedar Rapids client, in manufacturing, is seeking to add a new Machine Shop Supervisor to their team. The Machine Shop Supervisor?is responsible for running overall day-to-day operations to include supporting the new hire orientation process. To be successful in the role of Machine Shop Supervisor you must bring hands-on experience in CNC machining (Lathe or Mill), as well as previous experience in a supervisor/lead role within a manufacturing environment.

This is a direct hire position.

What you will be doing as a Machine Shop Supervisor… 

• Oversee the machine shop, ensuring smooth operations and utilization of resources.
• Provide guidance and support to the new hires during orientation process.
• Coordinate production planning, maintenance, and quality assurance.
• Supervise and coordinate all shop floors activities.
• Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate maintenance to ensure maximum uptime.
• Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, open communication, and employee development.

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Machine Shop Supervisor… 

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Supervisor or similar role in manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and manufacturing setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
