Instrument Engineer

Job Overview: Our client, specializing in the chemical intermediates industry, in Houston, TX, is seeking to add a NEW Instrument Engineer to their team. Instrument Engineers are responsible supporting the Asset Management group at the chemical plant, designing and providing installation assistance of instruments across the site, troubleshooting instruments, and supporting commissioning activities for small and large cap projects and site turnarounds. To be successful in the role of Instrument Engineer, you must have 3+ years' experience as an Instrument Engineer in a process industry such as refining and a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.

 
Compensation you will receive as an Instrument Engineer:

• $135,000 +/- BOE plus Bonus
• 401k
• Health, Dental, Vision
• PTO

This is a Direct Hire role that offers relocation assistance if needed.

What you will be doing as an Instrument Engineer…

• Perform RCA on instrumentation failures and provide recommendations for corrective action
• Support commissioning activities for projects and site turnarounds
• Ability to communicate with internal and external partners on instrumentation technology.
• Design and provide installation assistance of instruments across the site
• Perform troubleshooting of instruments and recommend solutions

Skills you ideally bring to the table as an Instrument Engineer…

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
•  3+ years’ experience and an Instrument Engineering in a process industry such as refining or petrochemicals
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

• 5+ years’ experience as an Instrument Engineer
