Industrial Electrician

Job Overview: Our Cedar Rapids client is seeking a skilled candidate to join their team in the assembly of electrical consoles. The role entails utilizing various electrical instruments such as multimeters and amp meters, interpreting electrical layouts to construct consoles, and performing tasks including drilling and punching conduit boxes, as well as making conduit and flex runs. Flex runs are secured in place using welding clamps or drilling and tapping methods before wire installation. Additionally, the candidate will excel in control and power wiring.

This is a Direct Hire role.

• Interpret blueprints and schematics to identify necessary components.
• Utilize electrical instruments like multi-meters and amp meters.
• Perform basic soldering tasks.
• Execute control and power wiring.
• Undertake climbing tasks, with a maximum height of 35 feet.
• Wire and test small standalone machines.
• Bend and install EMT/rigid conduits.
• Organize prints and layouts.
• Determine box locations, and drill or weld frames accordingly.
• Weld electrical boxes and devices as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues to resolution.
• Assemble subpanels with terminal strips and place them in boxes.
• Pull and label wires.
• Understand machine processes, logic, and ladder diagrams.
• Conduct machine and facility repairs and installations.

• Previous electrical experience or knowledge.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Fork truck operation capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background in electrical and mathematics, with the ability to interpret electrical diagrams.
