Help Desk Patch Management Engineer

Job Overview: Our Quad Cities area client, in technology, is seeking to add a NEW Help Desk Patch Management Engineer to their team. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Respond to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions.  Maintains and manages RMM solution, including but not limited to Windows Security, Patching, Antivirus, OpenDNS, remote connectivity

To be successful in this role, you must have experience in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi-task and respond to matters with calm positive thinking.

This is a Direct Hire role.


What you will be doing as a Help Desk Patch Management Engineer:

  • Maintain and manage RMM Solution
    • Windows patching
    • Remote access for clients
    • Security updates
    • Training and customization of software
    • Antivirus policies and management
    • OpenDNS policies and management
  • Provide high level of customer service regarding any patching/security concerns via phone, email, ticketing communication.
  • Server systems, software, and hardware
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software in areas of security and patch management on Helpdesk tickets and assist co-workers.
  • Manage portal entry and troubleshoot/resolve issues on portal software.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Help Desk Patch Management Engineer:
  • Basic Server Knowledge 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019
  • Windows 7/2003/2008/2010
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience of 2-3 years’ in IT and Customer Service
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a PC related field
  • Must be familiar with PC hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of Server OS’s a plus
