Tax Analyst

The Tax Analyst creates precise and up-to-date tax content that drives the accuracy and reliability of company's software products, supporting both compliance and smooth user experience.

This is a long term contract role with potential for a fulltime position. 

• Interpret federal and state tax laws and implement corresponding calculations and updates within the tax software.
• Develop accurate tax calculations for IRS and state forms.
• Design and maintain the layout and structure of tax forms and screens within the applications.
• Write and implement clear and user-friendly prompts to guide users through accurate tax return preparation.
• Create and review detailed tax case scenarios to ensure software accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor IRS and state form releases and communications; collaborate with the Tax Principal to prioritize implementation.
• Participate actively within a Scrum team to deliver high-quality, timely product updates.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support team and company goals.
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong math ability in algebra and solving complicated math equations for tax calculations 
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel creating and manipulating data with formulas and macros. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
