Environmental Compliance Engineer
In Muscatine, Iowa, the Environmental Compliance Engineer holds a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations. Responsibilities encompass coordinating permits, overseeing air emissions, water discharges, and waste disposal. Collaborating with the Engineering department on environmental projects within the Muscatine plant is a pivotal aspect. Furthermore, the position involves the ongoing management and updating of diverse environmental programs, including SPCC, RMP, SWPPP, TRI, GHG emissions, Tier II reporting, and CEMs. Reporting directly to the Director of Environmental Services, the role also includes supervisory duties.
This is a Direct Hire role.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Air Quality Permits:
- Prepare necessary air permits and establish regulatory reporting requirements.
- Compile and file required Title V documentation, including compliance tracking, permit updates, and renewals.
Continuous Emission Monitoring:
- Coordinate the operation and maintenance of CEMs system for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate annual RADA tests and monitor maintenance with contractors.
Additional Duties:
- Prepare annual Greenhouse Gas emission reports.
- Provide support and assistance to the operation of the Process Water Recovery Plant.
- Calculate and submit annually SARA311/312 (Tier II Reports).
- Calculate and submit annually Toxic Release Inventories (TRI) as required by EPA.
- Liaise with the City of Muscatine on sanitary wastewater sent to the city pollution control plant.
Education:
- Possess a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or possess equivalent experience.
