Embedded Software Engineer

We are actively seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer for a Contract to Hire position, to become an integral part of our client’s team, focusing on the innovation of powertrain systems.

Your Role:

  • You will engineer critical safety software for powertrain components, including battery management and motor control systems.
  • Engage in all development stages: planning, designing, coding, and verifying.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to break down and manage requirements according to DO-178C standards.
  • Join forces with cross-functional teams to weave together intricate hardware and software systems.
  • Take charge of software requirement analysis, ensure traceability, conduct requirements-based testing, and perform structural coverage analysis.
  • Play a pivotal role in enhancing our procedural landscape to bolster safety and operational efficacy.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Mastery of C programming and proficiency in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded software, especially within a regulated, safety-compliant environment (DO-178C or ISO 26262 standards preferred).
  • Acquaintance with debugging tools and laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes and bus analyzers.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.

Valued Extras:

  • Background in software development for Flight control systems or Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrains.
  • Proficiency in modeling tools like UML or SysML.
  • Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and the intricacies of multi-threading.
  • Civil aerospace software development experience.
