Division Controller
Job Overview: Our Cedar Rapids client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to add a new Division Controller to their team. The Division Controller oversees accounting and administrative activities, supervises the accounting team, and collaborates with all departments to meet production and profitability goals. This role includes financial analysis, forecasting, and effective communication with sales, engineering, and service teams on internal and external financial performance.
This is a Contract to Hire role.
What you will be doing as a Division Controller…
- Supervise A/P, payroll processing, job costing, and invoicing functions.
- Oversee and manage month-end financial reporting for corporate and division needs.
- Prepare, analyze, and review monthly job gross margin reports, coordinating data collection with the Finance department.
- Oversee annual physical inventory, cycle counting, and cost analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and business planning, focusing on volume, margin expectations, and departmental budgets.
- Analyze financial statements, report deviations, and support cost analysis for all departments, including investigation of discrepancies and potential solutions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting requirements and act as the accounting liaison between the corporate office, group, and local division.
- Manage and upgrade division IT systems, coordinating with corporate IT as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Business Administration or Management degrees considered with relevant experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, with a focus on cost systems
- Strong communication skills and business unit understanding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (Made2Manage a plus)
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, including Windows and networking
- Some travel required (less than 20%)
