As the Senior Director of Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead a team of engineers and shape the infrastructure vision to align with our clients company objectives. This pivotal role balances delivery with stability, scalability, quality, and technical debt, ensuring that cloud infrastructure supports strategic initiatives. You will oversee a group of teams working on client-facing, production infrastructure, identifying and prioritizing technical enhancements in collaboration with Engineering Directors. Success in this role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and strategic thinking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all facets of hosting infrastructure, applications, databases, and associated technology.
- Collaborate with application owners and business leaders to understand and address current and future business requirements.
- Drive infrastructure transformations to deliver scalable and sustainable value.
- Select vendors, negotiate contracts, and cultivate internal and external partner relationships.
- Communicate short-term and long-term infrastructure goals effectively across the organization.
- Lead and manage infrastructure staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Align departmental direction with senior management and company objectives.
- Cultivate strategic relationships internally and externally, including with vendors.
- Support Engineering Managers and Coaches in hiring, onboarding, and developing team members.
- Direct teams to deliver infrastructure projects within scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Engage in responses to RFPs and handle white-glove customer interactions.
Education and Experience:
- 7+ years in infrastructure roles.
- 4+ years of management experience.
- Strong AWS knowledge/experience
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and reasoning abilities.
- Ability to lead, coach, and mentor diverse personalities.
- Experience in talent assessment and professional development.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Capacity to balance technical considerations with business needs and timeframes.
