Director - Internal Fleet Maintenance
Job Overview: Our Cedar Rapids client is seeking to add a new Director of Internal Fleet Maintenance to their team. The Director of Internal Fleet Maintenance is responsible for leading shop operations managers across different states while partnering with internal departments. To be successful in the role of Director of Internal Fleet Maintenance, you must have a strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, be able to exhibit sound judgement and problem-solving skills, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
This is a Direct Hire role reporting to the Vice President of Equipment Solutions.
What you will be doing as a Director - Internal Fleet Maintenance

Manage shop utilization and provide direction to Service Managers at multiple facilities

Collaborate with Operations Teams to maximize maintenance activities across locations

Ensure shop strategic direction and operations align with the company goals and values

Establish and ensure maintenance KPIs align with the corporate maintenance strategy
- Assist in hiring, coaching, and evaluating employees within the maintenance department
- Ensure the shops receive, understand, and follow updates regarding shop performance
- Prepare budget projections based on known and projected volume
- Identify and plan maintenance capacity requirements and determine what skills are needed in techs to maximize efficiency and reduce costs
- Continually monitor shop repair data to identify opportunities to improve workflow and data of maintenance activities
- Ensure the shop is equipped to execute scheduled PM services, campaigns, pending work tasks, and manufacturer recalls by providing the shop with the tools and equipment necessary
- Be responsible for the overall condition of all shop facilities and the cost to maintain them
- Be responsible for employee engagement, response to employee inquiries, and the general work atmosphere of the shops
- Improve efficiencies through implementing & utilizing technology, analytics, and other forms of collaboration

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance leader overseeing multiple locations

Demonstrated effectiveness, success, and expertise in fleet maintenance
- Have a thorough understanding and be able to execute on ROI justifications regarding equipment and asset improvement

Innovative and forward-thinking in maintenance techniques and processes

Excellent written and oral communication with both internal and external teams members
