Data Engineer - Contract-to-Hire Position

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, managing, and optimizing our data infrastructure to support various analytics and reporting needs within the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design data solutions, and implement robust data pipelines.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data warehouse.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications for data solutions.
Develop and implement data models, schemas, and structures to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
Optimize data processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
Monitor data quality and integrity, identifying and resolving data anomalies or inconsistencies.
Work closely with the analytics and business intelligence teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data for reporting and analysis.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and dimensional modeling principles.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java for scripting and automation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in the logistics or transportation industry is a plus.
