Cloud Engineer
Job Overview: As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Azure cloud resources and environments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Azure technologies and a passion for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
This is a Direct Hire role. USC or GC REQUIRED.
What you will be doing as a Cloud Engineer

Azure Environment Design: Design and implement Azure environments and resources to meet the company's requirements, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Create and maintain templates using tools such as Terraform and BICEP to deploy Azure resources consistently and efficiently.

Azure Private Endpoints: Configure and manage Azure private endpoints to enhance the security and performance of our services.

Documentation: Document systems, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with best practices.

Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain PowerShell (or other language) scripts for environment management and automation tasks.

SRE/DevOps Mindset: Demonstrate a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and DevOps mindset and experience. Understand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration as code, and work with code pipelines for environment management.

State Configuration Management: Manage Windows primarily and Linux configurations using tools like PowerShell DSC, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Azure Compliance and Policy Management: Implement Azure compliance and policy management using pipelines, IaC, ARM templates, and ensure adherence to security standards.

Azure Monitoring and Logging: Configure and maintain Azure Monitoring solutions, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and more. Utilize observability platforms and log aggregation solutions for troubleshooting and optimization.

Azure Networking: Manage Azure Networking components, including Private Link Services, Private Endpoint Services, and various security measures such as Azure Firewall, NSG, and WAF.

Azure Storage Solutions: Oversee the management and security of Azure Databases, Storage Accounts, and Data Analytics Solutions.

Azure AD and Identity Management: Administer Azure AD, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, and other identity-related services.

Azure App Services: Manage and secure Azure Web Apps, Function Apps, App Service Environments, and associated components.

Azure Backup: Implement and maintain Azure Backup solutions, with additional knowledge of Azure Site Recovery as a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in designing and managing Azure environments and resources.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and BICEP.
- Familiarity with Azure private endpoints and security best practices.
- Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with PowerShell.
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and experience in the following areas are highly desirable:
- SRE/DevOps mindset and experience.
- State Configuration Management (Windows and Linux).
- Azure Compliance and Policy Management.
- Azure Monitoring and Logging.
- Azure Networking and Security.
- Azure Storage Solutions.
- Azure AD and Identity Management.
- Azure App Services.
- Azure Backup (Azure Site Recovery is a plus).
