Buyer – Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Contract role, 6+ months, $35 - $45/Hr 

Position Summary

We are seeking a Buyer to support sourcing and procurement initiatives within semiconductor manufacturing. This role is responsible for identifying and evaluating suppliers, sourcing advanced technology solutions (raw materials, equipment, and processing methods), and negotiating commercial agreements that deliver cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity. The Buyer will collaborate closely with Procurement, R&D, and cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with engineering project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Market Analysis

• Identify and source technology solutions applicable to semiconductor manufacturing, including raw materials, equipment, and new processing methods.

• Conduct in-depth market research and trend analysis related to semiconductor manufacturing technologies.

• Develop and maintain a qualified supplier pool.

• Perform financial and technical evaluations of potential suppliers.

Procurement & Contract Management

• Lead procurement activities including supplier selection, price negotiation, contract development, purchase order issuance, and delivery assurance.

• Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to maximize value and minimize risk.

• Analyze total cost of ownership and true purchasing price.

• Maintain documentation including supplier evaluations, quotations, investment reports, and selection summaries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate business and technical discussions with HQ Procurement and R&D engineering teams to determine supplier feasibility.

• Support engineering projects by sourcing applicable technology solutions.

• Provide analytical and strategic support for procurement planning and negotiations.

Supplier Performance & Reporting

• Develop and manage supplier scorecards and performance metrics.

• Monitor supplier capacity, risk, and performance.

• Promote internal knowledge sharing and procurement innovation.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, finance, economics, or a related analytical role.

• Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical and financial data.

• Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.

• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel (including financial functions).

• Familiarity with databases, statistical tools, inventory systems, order processing, and project management software.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
