Automation Technician
The purpose of the job is to support the engineering department in various mechanical, electrical, electronics, and/or software application automation projects. The position provides end user support in installation and training of automation technologies. This role will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, trouble shoot equipment and exchange faulty parts when needed.
This is a Direct Hire role. This is an hourly role.
What you will be doing as a Automation Technician

- To maintain automation equipment in excellent condition ensuring consistent quality, output, and yield.
- Follow systematic root cause problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, completing all associated paperwork and records.
- Keep equipment under calibration and coordinate equipment shipment to external OEMs if required.
- Assist with the commissioning of new equipment / projects.
- Order and maintain appropriate stock of spare parts.
- Cross Train technicians as required.
- Generate engineering reports to equipment's manufacturer to support trouble shooting.

- MS Office Suite Proficiency
- Statistical Process Control
- Reporting / Analytical Abilities
- Communication (Written, Verbal). Communication to/from equipment manufacture OEM is key to this role.

Experience you should have as an Automation Tech...

- Current student of Engineering or junior engineer (Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical).
- Or degree in electronics, electrical or electro-mechanical technician with 5-10 years experience in automated equipment management.
- Experience in high volume automation/robotics. Packaging and kitting.
- Experience in Pneumatics, Electronics, Hydraulics, Programmable Controllers, Servo Motor drives, Vision systems, workshop machining desirable.
Hours you will be work as a Automation Technician
1st shift, M-F, 40 hours with possible OT
Compensation you will receive as a Automation Technician :

Up to $45/hr depending on EXPERIENCE
