Associate Attorney

Saige Partners is seeking an Associate Attorney with practical litigation experience to join our client's team in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to work on diverse aspects of litigation, including depositions, trial preparation, mediation, and drafting motions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in litigation and a willingness to develop expertise in insurance defense and political subdivision litigation. This position provides a pathway to becoming a key contributor within our client's firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct all phases of litigation, including depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, and mediation.
• Draft and review legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Work closely with clients, providing legal advice and case updates.
• Develop expertise in areas such as insurance defense, political subdivision litigation, Section 1983 claims, civil litigation, labor & employment litigation, and transportation law.
• Manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Ohio Bar.
• 3+ years of litigation experience, including significant exposure to all phases of litigation.
• Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas: political subdivisions, Section 1983 claims, governmental defense, or bad faith insurance claims.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
