Account Manager
Job Overview: Our Des Moines, IA client is seeking an experienced and service-driven Account Manager to join their Risk Management team. This role is critical in supporting the success of commercial lines accounts by managing client relationships, coordinating service delivery, and ensuring a high standard of quality across all client interactions. The Account Manager will play a central role in the retention and satisfaction of clients through proactive account management and deep industry knowledge.
This is a Direct Hire role.
What you will be doing as a Account Manager…
Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts with accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with producers to market and place both new and renewal business in accordance with established workflows.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and available tools to support clients.
Respond to inquiries from producers and internal teams regarding coverage and account specifics.
Communicate directly with clients to provide clear explanations and guidance on policies and services.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal partners.
Travel to meet with insurance companies or clients when required.
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and enhance client experience.
Act as a subject matter expert within a specific niche or area of specialization.
Coordinate internal resources including Claims, Legal, Safety, Marketing, and Technology to support client needs.
Maintain a proactive approach in servicing accounts to ensure comprehensive coverage and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with service teams to expand coverage or independently round out accounts, as assigned.
Perform additional duties and projects as needed.
High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing commercial insurance accounts at an agency or carrier.
Active Property & Casualty Insurance license required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Familiar with insurance processes and documentation across multiple carriers and coverage types.
Experience with EPIC Agency Management Software is a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Strong relationship-building and client service skills.
Commitment to maintaining fiduciary responsibility to clients, producers, and the company.
High level of professionalism and work ethic.
