Job Overview: Our Cedar Rapids client is seeking to add a new Safety & Loss Control Specialist to their team. The Safety & Loss Control Specialist?is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining a safety culture in the workplace. To be successful in the role of Safety & Loss Control Specialist, you need to be experienced in risk management, workplace safety, and understand industry and government requirements.
This is a direct hire position.
What you will be doing as a Safety & Loss Control Specialist II
- Perform on-site consultative visits with clients to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their existing safety culture and program.
- Create personalized safety programs outlining specific processes for both leadership and employees.
- Define, measure, and manage ongoing safety initiatives and programs while collaborating with the production team to develop and present client proposals.
- Generate comprehensive Stewardship Reports to provide clients with feedback and propose action plans, ensuring alignment with their strategy and goals.
- Ensure timely follow-up with client reports and requests, meticulously document client communication, and communicate follow-up plans to involved parties. Additionally, schedule, plan, and deliver educational seminars both onsite and via webinar.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of claims data, compliance data, safety metrics, and telematics to discern trends and issues. Formulate and propose recommendations to clients for implementing additional training procedures and safety measures, aiming to proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Deliver educational materials and resources to support the transformation of workplace behaviors.
- Develop or modify training materials such as PowerPoints, handouts, and employee communications.
- Facilitate training sessions and meetings as necessary to enhance support for both internal and external clients.
- Travel as required, up to 50% of the time, to bolster client initiatives, visit key prospects, cultivate carrier relationships, and actively engage in industry events, trade shows, etc.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Safety & Loss Control Specialist II
- College degree preferred in Risk Management, Occupational Safety, or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management and workplace safety required.
- Valid drivers license.
- Maintain knowledge of industry, government requirements tools, and resources available to assist clients with safety and culture programs.
- Accounting knowledge is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and MSHA preferred.
