Mechanical Integrity Engineer
Location: Baytown, TX Onsite (Relocation Available)
Pay: $140K Based on Experience
The role of the Mechanical Integrity engineer is to develop, implement, and manage a Mechanical Integrity program that will assure and improve the quality, integrity, reliability and service life of plant equipment and systems. Understand and implement applicable company, government and industry codes and standards so that plant equipment and systems are designed, built, operated and maintained safely. Monitor compliance of outside service providers.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a solid Mechanical Integrity Program driving continuous improvement.
- Develop applicable Mechanical Integrity procedures.
- Continuous evaluation of inspection scopes and frequencies based upon inspection results using Risk Based Inspection methodology
- Manage, set-up, and update equipment and inspection results in Antea RBI software.
- Maintain list of PSM covered equipment.
- Manage outage inspection activities (scope development, cost, scheduling, and timely completion of reports and repair scopes).
- Evaluate equipment fitness for service against applicable industry and plant standards.
- Develop repair scope for equipment deficiencies identified during the inspection process.
- Maintain list of deficiencies and raise proper awareness to ensure timely completion of temporary and permanent repairs.
- Evaluate design of new equipment against applicable industry and company standards.
- Perform RCFA analysis on stationary equipment failures.
- Manage, obtain and maintain equipment data and systems information including manufacturers, engineering, design, fabrication, inspection, testing and maintenance repairs records that will provide current and accurate information for training, planning, procurement, evaluation and analysis.
- Submit Quarterly reports with all due inspections for the following 12 months.
- Sumit outage report that shows all inspections to be performed during the annual shutdown
Requirements
- Minimum B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 3 5 years of Mechanical Integrity experience
- 5 to 10 years of substantial petrochemical maintenance experience in a PSM regulated facility
- Knowledgeable in API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection, API 570 Piping Inspection, API 580 Risk Based Inspection and API 653 Above Ground Atmospheric Vessel inspection is desirable/preferred.
- Manage and coordinate all field inspections. Able to take a hands-on approach with inspectors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Aggressive problem-solving ability.
- Strong work planning and organizational skills required
- Able to work independently and as a part of a team
